O.k. we all know that hybrid cars have less pickup and power than gasoline engines, that is just a downside of this new technology. As it were the torque of hybrids is getting better and overall engine capacity is evolving at a huge rate. With Mercedes and BMW jumping into the arena, these complaints will soon be a thing of the past.
The battery lifespan is another Bad thing about hybrid cars. Often the charge is only good for a few hours and more often than not, hybrids are only set up to share the work load and not run primarily on battery power. Also the components for the lithium ion batteries are very rare and most times come from China.
Despite these downfalls to the current design of hybrid cars, the purchase of an HEV is definatley better than the alternative. Buying a hybrid lets the world know that there is real demand for fuel efficient cars and greener design. Your purchase helps enforce the necessity of the hybrid movement. So all in all there really are very few bad things about hybrid cars, an even these design problems are being resolved each year. Im sure that within a few years there will be long running electric cars available with just as much get up and go as any porsche on the road.
