2010 Hybrid Malibu Review

The new 2010 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid offers 30 mpg combined city/highway at just under $22,275. The Malibu Comes standard with low-rolling resistance tires and the battery lasts longer and charges faster. The 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine puts this hybrid near the top of the list for speed.

The 2010 Hybrid Malibu is larger than most hybrids, but the technology is what affords it the 30 mpg rating. With the Hybrid Prius boasting a 48 mpg, the Malibu has found it hard to compete with the gas mileage of other hybrids. The Hybrid Malibu’s size and larger engine give it a very spacious feel, plus there is more than enough headroom for the taller person like myself. I was impressed to say the least at the cab’s sizable interior.

On the dash there is an eco-friendly driver light that lights up green when you don’t accelerate too quickly. But when you mash down on the gas or accelerate too quickly, it goes off, which alerts you that you are no longer being green. Funny idea and it kind of reminds me of a zen coach that lives in your car.

The hybrid lane reports that the is a great car with a lot of style. Which is important if you want to get away from the hatchback hybrid cliché. Not the best gas mileage and not the lowest priced, but it definitely feels like a classic Malibu.
